Hi! Welcome to Chickpea Charlee. I’ve started this blog so I can share my fitness journey and plant-based eating. Food and fitness have become a bit of a hobby for me lately, and I’d like to share it with you all.
At the ripe age of 23, I’m finally starting to be happy with my body.
It hasn’t been a smooth ride (it has taken me a while), but I’ve come a long way.

I’m a part-time PhD student in eighteenth-century literature, working as a PA to support myself, hoping to eventually lecture with my PhD. I’m a busy girl, flat-out broke most of the time, but I’m learning to start prioritising my health. I will be upfront and say I have no expertise to offer, only my anecdotal experience of becoming healthier (when at times it is the last thing on your mind).
The main reasons for me starting this blog are
- To share my experiences, tips and tricks
- To keep myself accountable on this journey
- To reach out to others – I want to be able to talk to you too!
I will be posting about topics such as: when to fit workouts into your busy schedule, the importance of food prep, why you don’t need to pay for a gym membership (I don’t anymore), and anything else you would like me to talk about.
